Kim Cavender is a talented polymer clay artist that I met during the Winter CHA show & Clay Carnival in Las Vegas this year.
She demonstrated this wonderful Mediterranean tile cane during the show, and I remember thinking…I should try that!

Well months went by & I had forgotten about the cane until I saw her beautiful work featured on the cover of Polymer Cafe magazine this month.
I gave it my best shot this weekend and made a couple of bracelets and the pendant necklace shown here. (more…)

Well the results are in…and I’m very excited to say I placed 2nd in the Stamp Craft category! You can see pics of all winning entries here.
There were some beautiful projects in the group. Loved the “spring whimsy frame” that Lisa Zappa made… I’m going to have to make one of those soon! Am looking forward to finding out the theme for their summer stamping contest. It’ll give me an excuse to go out & buy some more rubber…as if I needed one.

Here’s a birthday card I made tonight for my friend Ellyn. Hero Arts has a wonderful new line of watercolor flower stamps that are a lot of fun. I used Twinkling H20 watercolor in moss green on the leaves/grass & Tsukineko Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Orchid on the flower.
This was inspired by a card made my Jennifer McGuire (you can see her version here). All stamps are Hero Arts: Happy Birthday to You (C2656), Small Watercolor Tulip (F3832).
