Guess what this is made of?

I recently saw a book at the craft store called “Rubber Stamped Jewelry” by Sandra McCall. It had an interesting technique in it that looked quite elegant for what it actually was…so I tested it out. Believe it or not, this pendant was actually made from foam core & a hot glue gun. Weird, eh?
Basically, you cut out a piece of foam core, slather it in glue, stamp in it, then paint it with acrylic paints. Because the foam core is thick, you can adhere wire to it & attach any number of findings. This one is sort of an ocean theme & was painted with blue & green pearlescent acrylics. I added freshwater pearls & beads to some wire & then attached a homemade spiral wire bail to it. The cord is necklace memory wire covered in black Beadalon tubing. This stamping technique seems to work especially well with more rudimentary / primitive stamps. If you are interested, you can find more info on Sandra’s book here.
