Here is a very simple sympathy card I made tonight for one of my co-workers whose mother passed away this week. Stamp was on clearance at JoAnns and is by Inkadinkado. Colored with Prismacolor pencils & blended with mineral spirits.

Here are pics of some altered letters I just completed for display at the Winter 2007 CHA show. They spell the word “DREAM” and will be highlighted in the designer showcase bohemian tween room in the lobby.
All letters were made with a heavy aluminum foil which was embossed using brass templates, free-form swirl designs, and ten seconds studio embossing wheels. Once complete, the metal was dyed with Pinata alcohol inks by Jacquard in Sapphire blue, Baja Blue, & Lime Green to give it a fun bohemian look. All raised areas were sanded to highlight the embossed design & then the metal was adhered to white wooden letters using strong double-sided tape. Click on images for a larger picture.

Was thrilled to find out that one of my cards was selected for the cover of Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine in February. It’s the heart flower card in the center (all stamps by Hero Arts), and is available on stands now.
The fat turkey “gobble, gobble” card on the cover of the Nov-06 issue & the pregnant woman shower card on the cover of the Jun-06 issue were also my designs. See below.
All back issues are available for purchase here.

This year, I hand-crafted some Christmas gifts for my parents. The first was an altered canvas for my mom with a polymer clay angel & a banner stamped with the word “faith”. This was inspired by the work of Barbara McGuire (a wonderful polymer clay artist & designer). The wings were made from rubber stamps she designed that can be found here.
The second gift was a hand-sculpted griffin for my dad’s collection. For those that don’t know, a griffin is a mythological creature with the head & wings of an eagle & the body of a lion. I sculpted it from black polymer clay, then dusted it with perfect pearls to give it a golden sheen. After I was done, I stepped back, looked at him, and decidedly thought he looked like a chicken. *LOL* But he was a best effort…maybe I’ll be able to make dad a more regal-looking one in the future!

Here is a very simply thank you card I made using a stamp from Hero Arts new 2007 line. I’m a big fan of the clean color combination of green, black & white.
The base of the card is made from white cardstock. The front is covered with green textured paper which was cut with Fiskars seagull decorative scissors. Ribbon is from JoAnns and the ink is Tsukineko Versafine in Black Onyx.

I entered Polymer Clay Central’s monthly challenge for the first time in December.
The theme was “Time” and I found myself sculpting an Alice in Wonderland style bunny rabbit. You can see detailed pics of him here along with the three winners of the challenge. Their pieces were amazing! I especially love Julie Picarello’s “Time Reversed” necklace. Really stunning.

I entered a Bottle of Hope contest this week that AMACO is hosting, and here is one of my entries. The top 3 bottles will have $250 donated in their name to the cancer charity of their choice. Not holding my breath here, but I had fun making my entry!
The bottle is about 3″ in height and is covered in FIMO polymer clay. I used a texture plate on the walls & AMACO beveled cutters for the window frame & roof tiles. You can’t tell from the picture but there are windows on either side so you can see through the bottle. The crow’s eyes were made with garnet stones & he and his perch are removable (so you can put messages inside).
