For those of you that may not know, I founded a charity project several years ago called Brimming with Love that offers free hats & scarves to cancer patients across the DFW metroplex that are undergoing cancer therapy. We’ve been getting a lot of requests recently for summer-style hats & turbans. Since we only have winter donations in stock right now, I decided to dedicate the afternoon to sewing turbans & sleep caps… 18 in all! Here’s a pic of them all in a basket… and another pic of what it looks like on my lovely model. Am hoping to put together an e-mail update soon for volunteers so we can start getting more hats in stock. We continue to get interest through our webpage, though.
Just today, I received a wonderful e-mail from someone in Michigan who wants to start making turbans to donate! I continue to be awestruck at the generosity of strangers & their willingness to make a difference in the lives of people facing this disease.
