I’d been wanting to try this dress pattern by Candi Jensen for years, ever since she demonstrated it on the Carol Duvall show. Here is a link to the pattern online. You can also get it in Candi’s book here along with some other darling crochet patterns for children.

I used Grace 100% cotton sport-weight yarn in Rose for the shell stitch top, and a cotton toile fabric for the skirt.

I modified the pattern a bit by taking a length of wide satin pink ribbon and fusing it to the inside of the dress where the crochet & fabric gathers meet. That way it is soft against the baby’s skin.

Similar to the bunny rabbit in my last post, this is a great project for the beginning sewer or crocheter. You don’t even need a sewing machine for this one!
