My fav stamp company, Hero Arts, is launching a new look for their website & blog this week. I can’t wait to see the new surprises they have in store for us on July 15th!

To start off the week, Hero asked some of their web designers and hostesses to create projects inspired by the website. I made a set of five onesies inspired by a T-shirt stamp craft in the archives. It was made by the ever-so-talented Barb Hache a while back. Here’s a sneak peek of the onesies…but go check out the Hero blog for the supply list, a full image, & more info! First up is this lil’ tin – that turns trash into treasure! This was made from a round altoid tin and uses some darling new Hero Arts stamps. I *HEART* that deer! And the background cloud stamp is greeat too. You can click on the picture for a larger image.

Second up is an elegant Kanji necklace. This is SUPER easy project to make, and uses those burnt out incandescent light bulbs you haven’t gotten around to throwing out yet. Turn them into jewelry molds! I filmed another step-by-step video you can see HERE. Hope you enjoy them and happy stamping!

I particularly love these dimensional purse stickers. I thought they would help make a nice gift card set by adding them to some high-grade Italian notecards (Fabriano) with a simple stamped sentiment beneath. I took designer papers and lined each Fabriano envelope to match. These were so fun & simple to make that I’m sure I’ll be making more sets in the near future. To finish them off, place them in a clear plastic box with a pen and tie it up with your favorite ribbon.

There are quite a few free patterns out there you can download on the internet. I used the Mary Jane pattern found here, by the folks over at Martha Stewart.

Simply print out the template and use it to cut out two pattern pieces from wool felt. Wool is best since it is much more durable than synthetic craft felt. (Look for it at your local fabric store, or you can get a beautiful assortment of colors here at the Magic Cabin).

Sew the shoe together according to the pattern instructions, add a closure, and embellish. I used snap closures on my straps and hid my sewing by punching out and adhering small flowers onto each strap using Fabri-tac glue (yes…another use for those paper punches!). I then added some velvet ric-rac and small satin bows using Fabri-tac as well.

The box was designed by me using sheets of acetate and some SU! patterned paper. I wanted to be able to display them from the top & sides, hence the acetate. I think this design would work great for displaying candy and other gifts as well. It is approximately 4.5″ square. I may post a tutorial at some point if anyone is interested.
