Here is the second gift I made for my friend’s new baby girl.

I’d been wanting to try this dress pattern by Candi Jensen for years, ever since she demonstrated it on the Carol Duvall show. Here is a link to the pattern online. You can also get it in Candi’s book here along with some other darling crochet patterns for children.
I used Grace 100% cotton sport-weight yarn in Rose for the shell stitch top, and a cotton toile fabric for the skirt.

I modified the pattern a bit by taking a length of wide satin pink ribbon and fusing it to the inside of the dress where the crochet & fabric gathers meet. That way it is soft against the baby’s skin.
Similar to the bunny rabbit in my last post, this is a great project for the beginning sewer or crocheter. You don’t even need a sewing machine for this one!

A friend of mine had a baby girl a few weeks ago and I decided to make her a few special, handmade gifts. The first is an Easter bunny that came a lil’ early this year.

He was made with white fleece and lavender polka dot cotton fabric. The tail is made from fleece as well (if you cut it into strips and stretch it out, it curls!)
Here is the brilliant, free pattern that I used created by Betz White. It is simple to sew, even for beginners, and can be completed in a couple of hours. Betz used buttons for her eyes, but I chose to embroider mine since the baby is still so young. TFL!

I made 16 of these Christmas nugget tins for my fellow co-workers this year.

Hard to see behind the polka dot ribbon, but each nugget was individually wrapped with a stamped label (using Papertrey Ink images) & I added a scalloped tag to finish (the to/from sentiment is from a Hero Arts holiday tag set) . TFL!

I found a small magnetic memo board a while back that was begging to be altered. I decided to cover it with pink & green princess colors and personalize with my niece’s name for an xmas gift. Both the letters & butterflies are magnetic. Hope she likes it!

Just a quick post to share some fun altered Halloween treat boxes. These pyramid boxes come in packages of 50 in Target’s wedding section and the frankenstein, ghost, witch, & spider are from The Angel Company’s Boo Bash set. For dimension, I used seed beads as bolts on the frankenstein & embroidery floss for the spider web. TFL!
